The MALTA OCCUPATIONAL PHYSICIANS ASSOCIATION
Inaugural Meeting 28th April 2009


The Malta Occupational Physicians Association is pleased to invite you to the inaugural lecture of its first official meeting to be held on Monday 28th April 2009 at 20.00 – 21.20 at the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Floriana. The meeting will be in the ‘De Medici’ meeting room.

Raymond Agius who is Professor of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Occupational and Environmental Health Research Group Leader at the School of Translation Medicine in the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences at the University of Manchester will lecture on ‘ Determining incidence, trends and novel hazards in occupational disease and work-related ill health; the role of the physician.’ .

Medical Practitioners who are on the Specialist Register in Occupational Medicine as well as those in training will receive information on continued professional development.

In addition MOPA wishes to inform Medical practitioners that a Pan-European Conference is being held on the Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April 2009, two days before the MOPA meeting. A program of the Conference is attached. The organisers have extended an invitation to the Conference to those on the Specialist Register in Occupational Medicine and trainees in this field. This invitation is also open to other MAM member practitioners interested in Safety and Health on a first come first served basis. No more than 30 can be accepted in view of the number of delegates registered. Those wishing to attend the conference should go to the registrations desks on arrival. Registration is free but beverages and meals are not included. They may be purchased from the registration desks.

Anyone interested in attending the MOPA MEETING and / or the SAFETY AND HEALTH CONFERENCE must CONFIRM their attendance to Dr Francis La Ferla on flaferla@onvol.net. not later than Wednesday 22nd April 2009.
