Notice from Public Health - Certification of children - 1/10/2009

Dear Doctor,

For your information.

It has been decided by the Health Division, together with the Education Division, that all students who are absent from school any time during this scholastic year will need to present a medical certificate stating that they are fit to return to school, and the certificate must indicate the date when the student can return to school. This certificate is necessary for any child (including kindergarten) returning to school, whatever the illness they may have had, and however long the illness may have been (including 1 day absences).

A child suffering from flu like symptoms should remain at home for seven days from the beginning of symptoms, or for the duration of symptoms whichever is longer.
