MUMN comments on the Medical profession - 23/8/2003

Extract from the Malta independent - Saturday 23rd August

"Study reveals majority of nurses and midwives consider their work stressful"

Meanwhile 67.6 per cent of those interviewed said they considered they had bad relationships with other professionals, and 66.2 per cent said this bad relationship was experienced mostly with members of the medical profession.

“There were also frightening comments and some spoke about cases where nurses and midwives were ridiculed and called names in front of their workmates by some consultants,” Mr Cini said, adding that 58 per cent said they were not prepared to report this behaviour because they believed the authorities would not take any action and it could have repercussions on them.
